Parenting Prayer

Posted by Angela Gilbert

Father God, one of the great challenges for us as parents: how can we parent as you do? In our depths, we want to have your patience, your grace, your mercy on our children as you have on us. Yet, they constantly fall short of our "plan." How much more should it frustrate you when we fall short? We know the cost. We know your love and your sacrifice. Rather than show frustration with our disobedience, our lack, you show a love that draws us closer. You remind us gently of the way you would have us walk. Please, God, shower on us all the blessing of your parenting style. Please let us parent through your love and grace, not our human expectations. Please draw us closer to you so that we might be better teachers for our children. We love you for being our perfect Father!
Amen.
