“Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven. For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.
Matthew 18:10-11
However, the very "lost" that Jesus came to save, often show up in our lives
in unique and challenging ways.
It may be that they show up in our daughter's new "in-rehab" 16 year-old
boyfriend; in family members that we just cannot get along with;
or in the face in the mirror that has begun to realize
they understand less today than they did the day before.
The "lost" may not be who we were expecting, they may
interrupt our plans and try our patience, and they
may look more familiar than we would like to admit.
But...the "lost" are all children of God with a "heart" need.
The need for a place their heart can call home.
Father God,
Help us not to forget the "lost" this season...all the ones in need of His saving grace.
Glory be to the Shepherd that leaves the others, to search for the one that "lost" their way.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen
Lyrics and video below...
Hello my friend
I remember when you were
So alive with your wide eyes
Then the light that you had in your heart was stolen
Now you say that it ain't worth stayin'
You wanna run but you're hesitatin'
I'm talkin' to me
Don't let your lights go down
Don't let your fire burn out
somewhere, somebody needs a reason to believe
Why don't you rise up now?
Don't be afraid to stand out
That's how the lost get found
The lost get found
So when you get the chance
Are you gonna take it?
There's a really big world at your fingertips
And you know you have the chance to change it
There's a girl on the streets, she's cryin'
There's a man whose faith is dyin'
Love is calling you
Don't let your lights go down
Don't let your fire burn out
somewhere, somebody needs a reason to believe
Why don't you rise up now?
Don't be afraid to stand out
That's how the lost get found
The lost get found
Why do we go with the flow
Or take an easier road?
Why are we playin' it safe?
Love came to show us the way
Love is a chance we should take
I'm movin' out of the way
Don't let your lights go down
Don't let your fire burn out
somewhere, somebody needs a reason to believe
(Stand out)
Don't let your lights go down
Don't let your fire burn out
(Stand out)
somewhere, somebody needs a reason to believe
Why don't you rise up now?
Don't be afraid to stand out
That's how the lost get found
The lost get found
