Entrusted to Uphold Her Glory

With every heart that experiences hurt
at the hands of a Christian...
the church's crown begins to slide.

With every heart that experiences forms of judgement
at the hands of a Christian...
the church's purity becomes tainted.

With every heart that experiences inconsistency
at the hands of a Christian...
the church's reputation is marred.

With every heart that experiences hypocrisy
at the hands of a Christian...
the church's brilliance begins to fade.

With every heart that experiences false intimacy
at the hands of a Christian...
the church's honor is lost.

With every heart that experiences control
at the hands of a Christian...
the church's freedom becomes chained.

With every heart that experiences complacency
at the hands of a Christian...
the church's power leaks out.

When every heart that experiences superiority and elitism
at the hands of a Christian...
the church's humility is damaged.

With every heart that experiences subtle manipulation
at the hands of a Christian...
the church's integrity weakens.

With every heart that experiences gossip, slander and defamation,
at the hands of a Christian...
the church's foundation cracks.

With every heart that experiences a lack of humility and repentance
at the hands of a Christian...
the church's devotion dwindles.

With every heart that experiences an unwillingness to be forthright and true
at the hands of a Christian...
the church's glory begins to fade.

With every heart that experiences a lack of faith
at the hands of a Christian...
the church's hope is gone.

We are the "u" in church. We are the heart of who she is.
We can say to ourselves, "I'm not changing... God made me who I am!"
 or we can say,
"G-d, You made me. Change me into who I am."
